Carol C. (Siebe) Halbritter

Carol Catherine (Siebe) Halbritter, 90, of Syracuse, passed away May 23,2019. Carol was born in Amsterdam, NY on May 7, 1929.  Carol liked to describe herself as a “Tom Boy”. Carol was the caretaker to her entire immediate family.  She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and aunt.  Carol loved movies and could tell you about all the old movies and actors and actresses.  Carol loved to drive.  Carol loved cars especially Buicks.  When she had to give up her license, it took a toll.   She played sandlot baseball in her teens.  She was always the first chosen to play and her teammates nicknamed her “C”. Carol always wanted to be a nurse and certainly performed a lot of nursing duties for her family.  She loved pharmaceuticals and prided herself on knowing about medicine in general.  

Carol was predeceased by her husband George Walter Halbritter, her sister Joan Lois (Siebe) McDonald, her father Carl William Siebe, her mother Mabel Helen (Whalen) Siebe. Carol leaves behind her son Glenn Joseph Halbritter and spouse Donna Walker Halbritter, her daughter Patricia June (Halbritter) Stanley and spouse Philip Milton Stanley, 4 grandchildren Nicholas Carl Stanley and spouse Kristen Marie (Clifton) Stanley, Mary Tekla Ann(Stanley) Weldon and spouse Aaron Joseph Weldon, Erik Joseph Halbritter, and Mark Thomas Halbritter and one great grandson Carl James Stanley.

We would like to extend our warmest thanks to the staff in the dementia unit at Iroquois Nursing home who helped Mom on a difficult journey and were always there to care, hug, and laugh with Mom.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 9:30 AMin Sears Middleton Mathewson Funeral Home and 10 AM in St. Rose of Lima Church. Burial will follow in North Syracuse Cemetery.
