Alex Sardella, 32, of Liverpool passed away unexpectedly at home in his sleep last week. Born in Syracuse, NY, he grew up in East Syracuse and was a graduate of East Syracuse Minoa High School. In his youth he enjoyed sports and was on Pop Warner teams for baseball and football, though his true love was basketball.
As a teen he played in a community league, and as an adult he was the point guard for Meridian IT at the Pastime Athletic Club. He was also a life-time lover of video games and in his early adulthood discovered his passion for EDM/techno music.
Most notable was his job working at the NFL training camp for the Carolina Panthers, where he earned praise for his dedication and work ethic. Most recently he was a manager at Reeb Millwork in Liverpool.
He is predeceased by his parents, Ed and Cindy Sardella; and survived by his sisters, Michelle (Brent) Kelley and Danielle (Shawn Monroe) Lewis; nephew, Devin Lewis; niece, Winter Monroe; extended family; many friends; and the keeper of his heart, his dog, Georgia.
Calling hours are Saturday from 10am-12pm at Sears Middleton Mathewson Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., North Syracuse with a service to follow at 12pm.
