Anthony Rocco Obituary

Anthony D. Rocco Sr. passed away peacefully on February 2nd at the age of 89 at St. Camillus Nursing Home.

Tony was the second youngest of six children. He grew up on Syracuse’s North Side and was a graduate of North High School’s class of 1953. He loved the arts and was a member of the Pompeian Players while in high school. After high school he started his technical career at the Syracuse Phone Co. and then at GE. He later became an entrepreneur and started E&A Design which eventually became Ancora Productions in Syracuse and Corning, NY. He was

dedicated to his business and proudly produced a multitude of multi-image slide shows for O’Brien & Gere, Ingersol Rand and Corning Glass to name a few. His business also leased draftsmen and engineers to these same companies to fill the demands at the time.

He was blessed with many close friends in Syracuse and Corning, several since childhood and those surviving remained faithful to this day. Always the life of the party, he loved to tell jokes and be the center of attention. He was well loved by many. He loved a good cigar and glass of scotch, enjoyed playing golf, watching SU football and listening to jazz, attending local shows.

Tony was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Anna (Garofalo) Rocco and his four brothers, Leon (Nina), Ralph, Vincent (Rosie) and Michael (Caroline) Rocco and his wise guy African Grey Parrot of many years, Guido.

He is survived by former wife, Eloise (Werbeck) Rocco and their children, sons, Anthony Jr., Robert (Sherry), Dean and Mark Rocco, daughters, Lynn (Tim) Christensen and Andrea (Peter) Pandori, five grandchildren, Joshua Lyons, Alan Paul, Nicholas (Dominique) Pandori, Anna (Kyle) Chase and Giavanna, one great grandchild, Katarina and several step grandchildren. Also surviving is his baby sister Anne (John) Palazzoli, sister-in-law, Jean Barletta and many nieces, nephews and close friends. The family would also like to acknowledge Tony’s second former wife, Florence Agosta and her family.

The family would like to thank the amazing staff at St. Camillus, especially those in the D-Unit, for the outstanding care and compassion for Tony during his stay there.

A celebration of life is being planned for this Spring with date to be announced. Donations may be made to St. Camillus Nursing Home in Anthony’s name.
