Avery James Woodcock, 6, of North Syracuse, passed away on July 20, 2018, surrounded by family at Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital in Syracuse.
Avery was born April 23, 2012, in Syracuse, NY with a cleft palate. Developmental delays and a heart condition complicated his treatment options. He persevered through surgeries and physical adversities making his family proud with every milestone he achieved. His sweet smile was infectious and brightened any room. Avery loved his family dogs, Mickey Mouse, puzzles, and stacking blocks so he could knock them over. His love of his family will forever live on in his memory. His family’s grief is only lessened knowing that he is in heaven, and no longer suffering.
Avery is survived by his mother, Allison; great grandmother Connie (Morris) Ranalli; grandparents, Lawrence & Maureen (Smith) Woodcock; aunts, Jamie & Nicole (Matthew) Coleman; uncles, Charlie and Josh; and cousins, Bethany, Corey, Landon & Dempsey.
Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Sears Middleton Mathewson Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., North Syracuse. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Avery’s name to Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital.
