Betty J. (Tiefke) Hennessy

Betty J. (Tiefke) Hennessy,  95, formerly of Clay, passed away January 30, 2020. She was born in Oswego, NY August 16, 1924  

Betty received her Registered Nurse degree from Crouse Hospital School of Nursing and  worked for Dr. Walker in Liverpool for many years and at St. Joseph’s Hospital before retiring in 1992. Betty enjoyed knitting, riding her bike and gardening. She had a lifelong commitment to her beloved dogs. She was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, John Hennessy in 2015.

She is survived by her sons, Jack and James (Barbara) Hennessy; her daughter, Kathy Trubia; her grandchildren, Jeff (Jill) Trubia, Sara (Damon) Villnave, Matthew (Rachel), Mark (Kristal), and Brett (Aimee) Hennessy, Erin (Matthew) LeClair and Jill (Andrew) Egan, as well as 16 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at  10am in Sears Middleton Mathewson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay. Calling hours are Tuesday from 5-7pm at the funeral home 209 N. Main St., North  Syracuse, NY.
