Calvin C. Dykeman, 91, of North Syracuse, passed away October 14th surrounded by his children. He was born in Binghamton and was a US Navy veteran during the Korean War.
He retired from General Electric in 1992 and then worked 20 more years for the North Syracuse School's Transportation Department. He was an avid bowler and loved to golf and was a lifetime member of VFW Post 9596 in Collamer
He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Betty in April 2022 and by his siblings, Ruth Miller and Frank Dykeman.
He is survived by his children, Dennis (Michele) of North Syracuse, Robert (Dawn) of Cicero, Terri (Drew) Marks of Mattydale and Penny (Randy) Malone of Syracuse; her grandchildren, Jessica, Sarah, Michael, Scott, Shawn, Brian, Matt, Stacey, Teagan and Nadia; 5 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are Monday from 4-6pm at Sears Middleton Mathewson Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., North Syracuse. Burial will be Tuesday in Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay at 10am.
In Lieu of flowers, donations in Calvin's name can be made to Alzheimer's Association CNY Chapter or Hospice of CNY.
