Carl A. Barber, 60, Of Syracuse, NY- passed away suddenly and accidentally Sunday June 2, 2024.
He was predeceased by his parents Roland and Thelma, siblings Anita, Sharon, Patricia and Timothy. He is survived by his sister Elaine and brother Jim.
Carl was one of a kind. His bigger than life personality, seemingly endless energy and tenacity was contagious. He was a friend to all who knew him and would give the shirt off his back to a stranger. Carl was an avid athlete, he enjoyed working out and focused greatly on his health and fitness. He was an accomplished motocross racer, successful boxer and MMA coach.
Professionally, Carl was a successful entrepreneur, having created a unique approach to repairing scratches and paint imperfections on automobiles. He was well known and appreciated within the car industry not only locally, but nationally as well. Carl enjoyed bicycling, hiking and walking in the rain. Carl found great solace and comfort in the companionship of friends and family, but most of all loved and cherished his cats.
Calling hours are Saturday, June 22nd from 2-4pm at Sears Middleton Mathewson Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., North Syracuse, with a service to follow at 4pm at the funeral home.
