Carol A. (Wicks) Casler

Carol A. Casler (Wicks), age 83, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026.

Born on September 1, 1942, in Syracuse, New York, Carol spent much of her life serving others with kindness and dedication. She worked as a waitress for over 60 years and was affectionately known as the "Mother of Mother's Cupboard Diner." Carol took great pride in her work and genuinely enjoyed making her customers feel welcome and cared for.

Carol loved cooking for her family and treasured every opportunity to spend time with those she loved. She enjoyed playing bingo and embraced any occasion that brought together family, friends, laughter, and cherished memories.

In her later years, Carol enjoyed the comfort of home, spending her days watching her favorite television programs, completing puzzle books, and spoiling her beloved cat, Shadow. Most of all, she cherished the time she spent with her family.

Carol is survived by her loving daughter, Michelle Hamilton (Casler); her grandchildren, Joe, Shannon, Jason, Stephanie, Kaitlyn, Rayna, and Riley; her great-grandchildren, Madison, Baby Jay, and several others; her sisters, Linda, Barb, and Bonnie; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved sons, Rex Casler and Jason Casler, and her sister, Mary.

Carol will be remembered for her warm heart, generous spirit, unwavering devotion to her family, and the joy she brought to everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

Forever loved, forever missed.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., with a prayer service immediately following from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Sears Middleton Mathewson Funeral Home, 209 North Main Street, North Syracuse, New York 13212.
