Clarence Taylor Obituary

Clarence “Russ” Taylor, 87, of Central Square, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2021 with his family by his side. He was born January 4, 1934 in Mount Vernon, NY to Clarence and Audra Taylor.
Russ was a US Army veteran and retired from Tops Markets in 1999, where he was employed as a baker. Russ enjoyed playing many sports but his favorite was volleyball. He enjoyed carpentry and kept himself busy with his many projects.  Russ’s favorite past time was watching the Buffalo Bills and the Syracuse University sports team play.  An avid animal lover, he enjoyed the company of his many pets throughout the years and leaves behind his favorite friend, “Diva” the cat. 

He was predeceased by his son, Don Taylor (Jamie).

He is survived by his sons, Derek (Cheryle) of Clay, David (Marjorie) of Cicero and Daryl of Liverpool; 10 grand-daughters Kali Planty, Ashley (Nate) Bednarz, Erika (Nick) Emert, Chelsea (Jorge) Alvarenga, Courtney Taylor, Madison Taylor, Faith Taylor, Amanda Monacelli, Haley Huey, and Ali Huey and great-grandkids Mateo Alvarenga, Holden Emert, Willow and Echo Monacelli; Mother of his 4 sons, Gloria Taylor of Liverpool. Russ was one of 5 siblings and the first to depart the “Taylor 5”.  Joan Windecker of New Hartford, Dale Taylor of Lancaster, Paul (Sue) Taylor of North Carolina, and Rick (Jan) Taylor of Bridgeport and several nieces and nephews.
