Cynthia Golden-Haylor Obituary

On Tuesday December 22, 2020, Cynthia Golden-Haylor passed away unexpectedly at the age of 70 due to complications from COVID. Cindy was born to Fred and Janice Golden on September 16, 1950 in Syracuse New York. She graduated from North Syracuse High School and she took a number of continuing education classes. Cindy married her longtime companion Paul Haylor in 2008. She had a gift for music that began at a young age and was able to play any instrument she picked up. Cindy wanted to share her love of music with everyone, her dream was to open her own music store, which she did, Golden Music. Her other passion was mentoring teenagers, so she opened and operated the Mattydale Youth Center, the first youth center in Mattydale. Through these outlets she was able to teach and mentor others to expand on their passion for music, as well as a safe place. Cindy’s music was enjoyed by friends and family, as well as those that watched her perform at many venues when she was younger. She was also an avid billiards player, she competed in the New York state women’s championship. Cindy will be remembered for her amazing talents, generous nature and compassionate spirit. She will be dearly missed by those who knew her, as she touched the hearts of many. Cindy was preceded in death by her beloved parents and her husband Paul.  She is survived by her sister, Carrie Golden Williams (Warren) and their two children, Ryan (Diana) and Laura (Luke), her brother Ronald Golden (Mary) and his two children, Samantha and Christian (Jamie). Burial will be at the North Syracuse cemetery. Due to COVID, a memorial will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to local charities that support mental health and animal shelters. Leave condolences at searsmiddleton.com
