David Mark Turnbull

The world lost a beautiful soul, and we lost an amazing brother. David Mark Turnbull II, 48, of Syracuse, passed away on February 4th, 2026, with his siblings by his side. Born on September 10th, 1977, David was one of four children born to our amazing, and deeply missed mother, Doris DeSantis.

David did not have an easy life. He was born with several health issues that shortened his time on this earth, but it never dampened his spirit. There was never a complaint heard from him. He was a gentle giant who left a lasting impression on all those who cared for him. David loved listening to R&B hits, playing games, reading the Bible, being with family, and eating a good meal. Nothing lit up his smile more than fresh pan of lasagna, an iced coffee, or a fresh donut!

David was greeted at those pearly gates by mom and many wagging tails. He leaves behind his three siblings: Christopher (Jennifer) Turnbull, Robert “Bobby” Turnbull, and Tiffany (Schawn) Bezner, several nieces, two nephews, one great niece, and his step-father, Leo DeSantis; the only father he ever knew.

Our family wants to extend the most sincere thank you to all the healthcare workers who cared for our brother over the years. We see you, and we appreciate all you did.
