David Francis Weaver, 75, of Stryker Homes in Auburn, New York, passed away on Saturday, April 25th, 2026, after a brief illness. David was the youngest son of Robert and Helen Weaver. He grew up in North Syracuse, New York, on Hoytville Avenue, before joining the Marine Corps on July 9, 1968, serving in Vietnam until June 30, 1972. David was proud to serve his country. For his service, he was awarded the Combat Action Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with three clusters, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. After his military service, David became a skilled welder. He is survived by his sister, Carol McCarthy, and her husband, Joseph, his brother, Robert Weaver, and Robert’s wife, Claudia, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins, whom he was close to while growing up. David will always be remembered as a free spirit. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in David’s name to the Meals on Wheels program. Funeral arrangements will be announced by the family.
