Obituary

Diane Marie (FitzGerald) Browning, 82, of North Syracuse, passed away February 6, 2022. She was born in Watertown, the daughter of A.R. and Elizabeth (Quilty) FitzGerald.

She graduated from Lowville Academy in 1957 and from Central City Business Institute in 1958. She married William B. Browning in 1960 and was predeceased by her husband in 1999. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church, a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and Columbiettes. She was past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of BPOE # 2454.

She was employed as an administrative assistant at University Hospital, served with the Town of Clay Ethics Committee, Trustee, Senior Advocate, Deputy Mayor and Mayor of the Village of North Syracuse. She also served as a Senior Advocate for the Town of Cicero and was a board member for Meals on Wheels.

She is survived by her daughter, Bethany (Joseph) Soboleski of Cicero; her grandsons, Joseph Ryan of North Syracuse and Sean (Krissy) Soboleski of Brewerton; great-granddaughters, Rylie and Kinsley Soboleski; her sister, MaryLou Mank; her nieces, Lisa Reddell, Tammy Wincup, Karen Brown, Karla Longdaue, Kelly Dowd and Katie Hodges; several great nieces and great nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10am in Sacred Heart Church, Cicero. Burial will follow in North Syracuse Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 4-7pm at Sears Middleton Mathewson Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., North Syracuse.

Contributions in Diane's name can be made to St. Rose of Lima Food Pantry or North Syracuse Meals on Wheels.
