Donald R. Howells, 91, of North Syracuse, passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was born in Allenton, PA to Charles and Mildred Howells. Donald served in the United States Air Force during the mid 1950s. He worked at Carrier Corporation in many capacities during his 43 years there. Prior to his retirement, he was the Manager of Office Services and Mail Department.
Don and his wife Eleanor were married for 65 years and had 4 children. He was a Little League and Babe Ruth coach for many years while his sons were growing up. Don was a lifelong avid fan of the NY Yankees and Syracuse University Football. He enjoyed traveling with his wife around the United States, the Carribean, and Canada. They also enjoyed over 20 years as snow birds in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Don was predeceased by his wife Eleanor and his son Christopher. He is survived by a daughter Lynne (Ron) Yackel; sons, Gregg (Lisa) and James (Wendy); grandchildren, Morgan and Alec Howells.
Per his wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. Burial will be private.
