Doris Stewart

Doris Stewart, 94, of North Syracuse, died on September 12, 2023.

Born in Oil City, Pennsylvania on March 1, 1929, she retired from the North Syracuse Central School District in 1989 where she was a librarian. She taught English in Pennsylvania and lowa before coming to New York.

Doris earned a bachelor's degree from Grove City College, a master's degree from Penn State University and a master's degree from Syracuse University.

She is predeceased by her parents Dean Bradley Stewart, Sr. and Dorothy Taylor Stewart, and by her brother, Dean Bradley Stewart, Jr.

She enjoyed bridge, bowling and golf, belonging to several leagues. She also belonged to the Civic Social Club and the Corinthian Club.

Doris loved animals and rescued a number of cats who came to live with her.

She is survived by two nephews: Kevin Michael Stewart and Dean Bradley Stewart, Ill, both of North Carolina.
