Elizbeth King “Liz”, 82, of North Syracuse, passed away peacefully Thursday evening Sept 18th at the Bishop Nursing Home in Syracuse NY. Liz was born March 17th1943, and raised in New Jersey. She then moved to North Syracuse with her family where she resided for more than 50 years. Liz was a floral designer for many years at Hoover Flowers in North Syracuse, before opening her own floral shop in Mattydale NY. Liz enjoyed designing all different kind of arrangements for all occasions.
Liz loved spending time with her family & friends. She loved hanging out at the Dunkin Donuts or any coffee shop talking with her friends. Liz loved all kinds of music the louder the better. She loved to write poems, stories, drawing pictures even on napkins. She loved nature and checking out all the different flowers. Liz also loved going on motorcycle rides with her fiancé Carl and their friends and would ride all over. One of the greatest joys in Liz’s life was spending time with her kids and grandkids. She will be deeply missed by everyone that knew her.
Liz was predeceased by her parents, her fiancé Carl Smith and her sister Patty Vanderwood. The family would like to thank the staff at the Bishops on 3 South as well as her Nurses Michelle and Jess and the aides for taking wonderful care of her. Also a special thank you to her neighbor Ashley and Steve for always being there to help us day or night.
Liz is survived by her brother Neil (Kathy) Simonelli of New Jersey. daughter Nancy Clancy of North Syracuse, Son Robert (Janis) King of Clay, her granddaughter Stephanie Payne, and her two grandsons Robert King Jr of clay and Khayman Clancy of North Syracuse as well as several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Friday September 26th from 4pm-7pmat Sears Middleton Mathewson Funeral Home. 209 N. Main St. North Syracuse. Burial will be private in North Syracuse Cemetery.
