Ethel M. Abbott passed away peacefully in her home after a very long and happy life on October 4, 2021. Ethel was born May 6, 1919 in Syracuse, NY to Earl & Lillian Abbott.
She was also predeceased by her two sisters & their husbands, Elnor & Ray Casey, Margaret & Tony Rybinski and niece, Sandra Becker.
Ethel is survived by John Becker, Patricia (John) Ard, Joan (Rod) Stummer, & Donna (Wally) Scanlon and their families. Many Great Nieces & Nephews as well as Great Great Nieces & Nephews. She was also Godmother to many of them as well.
She spent many years working at Easy Washer, General Electric & Omnetic Inc. in Syracuse, NY assembling electronic boards. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, and jigsaw puzzles. She crocheted blankets for so many people, Doctors, Friends & Family. She had several lap blankets done to be given to the sick. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved seeing all the new babies coming along. She looked forward to turning 100 years old and celebrating with so many family & friends. These last 2 ½ years have been a bonus for all of us. She has been a member for 74 years of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Phoenix, NY. She was very strong in her faith all her life. Aunt Ethel lives on in our Hearts. Gone, but never forgotten!
A Mass of Christian burial will be November 20, 2021 at 10am at St. Stephen's Church, 469 Main St., Phoenix, NY 13135. Burial will follow at Pine Plains Cemetery, 8686 Henry Clay Blvd, Clay, NY 13041.
