Fred J. Schoolcraft

Fred J. Schoolcraft, 81, of North Syracuse, passed away January 11, 2026. He was born in Fulton and was a 1963 graduate of Hannibal High School. He was a  US Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

Fred was an assembler for General Motors for many years. He was an avid fan of Syracuse University sports, the Buffalo Bills and the NY Yankees. He also loved to travel.

He was predeceased by his wife, Norma Johnsey Schoolcraft and his parents, Kenneth and Aletha Conine Schoolcraft and siblings, Betty King (Dan), Carol Bernys (Bob) and Vickie Crismond.

He is survived by his wife, Vivian Brooks Schoolcraft, his children, Joy (Scott) Evans and Julie (Josh) Mashtare, 12 grandchildren, one great grandchild, his siblings, David Schoolcraft, Jim Schoolcraft and Steve (Terri) Schoolcraft, his godson, Christopher Schoolcraft, his mother-in-law, Sandra Youngs and several brothers and sisters in law and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are Friday January 16th from 10am to 12pm at Sears Middleton Mathewson Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., North Syracuse with a service at 12pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay.
