Frederick Weber Obituary

Frederick Wilhelm Weber   1932-2020
Frederick W. Weber 88, of Syracuse, formerly of Camillus, passed away peacefully at Crouse Hospital on November 2nd. A Syracuse native, growing up on the city’s "Nort Side",  Fred attended Vocational High School before joining the Navy during the Korean War. He served aboard the Destroyer USS Waldron, before returning home to work for his parents Wilhelm and Lina, at Weber’s Restaurant on the  corner of Danforth & First North St. While there he became a member of the Liederkranz Club, the Past Times, the Arion Club, and was very active with the Shriners, working at the Circus every year. He was also a member of the Masons for over 55 years.
Fred then went on to open his own restaurant, Weber’s Wayside Inn, in “Beautiful Downtown Elbridge” for over 26 years.  Taking pride in his  Sauerbraten and hand cut steaks.
While enjoying his free time skiing in the winter, travelling to Vermont every winter with the family, he also loved puttering in the yard or cooling off in the pool, especially after enjoying a long bike ride, then treating the family and friends to great steaks on the BBQ. Fred also loved visiting local restaurants with the family on Monday nights (when the wayside was closed, or Sunday afternoons, the “Caroma“ being a big favorite.  Along with "Soo Lins"  and many others, of course, there were many more!
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joan, and his three daughters Kim (Juergen) Foehst, Deborah Chrissley, and Nancy Weber. Two granddaughters, Jennifer Marshall, and Michele Marshall, 3 great grandchildren.  We can't forget his brother Otto Weber, and  5 nephews.
A private service was held, and burial will be at a later date.
Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Central and Western NY, 990 7th North St , Liverpool NY 13088.

Our family would like to thank all the wonderful folks at the VA hospital involved with his care for so few years.
