James "Jim" E. Clewis, Sr., 77, of Fayetteville, departed from this life on Thursday, March 5, 2020.
James is survived by his wife, Patricia (Cook) Clewis of Fayetteville, his children Sherry Donath-Kellogg, Darlene Hutchins, Jaqueline Donath, Patti Donath, John Donath, and Paul Donath all of Syracuse, New York, and James (Jay) Clewis, Jr. of Los Angeles, California; 18 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and siblings Gladys (Bug) Kirkland, Evelyn Bozeman, and Sue Brookins. James is predeceased by his daughter WendyJo Donath.
Born in West Bay, Florida, James joined the Florida Foods Company in the early 1960s, and in 1967, moved to Syracuse, New York where he met his wife, Patricia. They married in 1982. James worked as a machinist and welder at the Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Syracuse for 19 years. He worked for several other manufacturing companies before retiring from Birds Eye Foods in Fulton, New York in 2004.
James will be remembered for his perseverance in the face of adversity and how his smile lit up a room.
