Obituary

James “Jim” Smith of Syracuse, NY, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2023 at the age of 46, at Upstate Hospital surrounded by family. Jim battled with multiple medical issues while in the hospital, and he put up a stubborn good fight as in his nature.

Jim was free-spirited and adventurous. He enjoyed nature, animals, video games, and writing poetry, among other things. He was a goofball who always put a smile on everyone’s faces, especially his friends and family.

Jim was preceded in death by his mother Pauline, and his sister Tammy. Jim’s memory will live on through his brother William, his children, Nicole, Reilly, Taylor, and Jayde, as well as his nieces and nephews. His family has decided to hold a celebration of life to celebrate Jim’s life as he would have wanted. His celebration of life will be held on July 30th, 2023 at 2pm at Clark’s Reservation State Park under the large pavilion.
