James Thomas Stoy
June 2, 1965 – May 12, 2026
James Thomas Stoy passed away at home in Syracuse, New York, on May 12, 2026, after a long illness. He was 60 years old.
Jim was born on June 2, 1965, in Glens Falls, New York, to James Stoy and Janice Millington. He grew up in Glens Falls and carried that hometown spirit with him everywhere he went. Jim had a big personality, a loud laugh, and a way of making every get-together feel special. If there was food, football, music, and people he loved around him, he was happy.
He loved to travel, cook, and spend time with family and friends. Jim never needed much of a reason to celebrate. He enjoyed hosting, telling stories, and making people laugh. He had a huge heart and made strong impressions on everyone who knew him.
More than anything, Jim loved his son Evan, who he was incredibly proud of. Being a father meant the world to him.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Janice, his brothers Jeffrey, Deward, and Phil, his sister Julie, and his beloved dogs Reggie and Savannah.
He is survived by his son Evan and daughter Laura, brothers Craig, Ken, Chris, Daniel and John, sisters Jeane and Jessica, and many nieces and nephews who will remember him with love.
Jim will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for his warmth, humor, loyalty, and the joy he brought into the lives of others.
A 1 hour calling hour will take place before mass on Monday, May 18th, 2026, at 4791 W Seneca Turnpike, Syracuse, NY 13215 starting at 10 am.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to GF Nation Fund, a nonprofit organization supporting extracurricular opportunities for students in the Glens Falls City School District.
