Josephine (“Josie”) M. Borregine (LaMacchia) was a lifelong resident of North Syracuse. She was born in Syracuse on December 10, 1931, to Bartolo and Carmela LaMacchia (Terminella).
She graduated from Oswego State Teachers College (SUNY College at Oswego). She was a teacher in the Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Central School District, and years later, after raising her own children, she worked as a substitute teacher and school bus attendant for many years with the Cicero North Syracuse Central School District.
Josie enjoyed spending time with her family and was a voracious reader with an insatiable passion for reading anything and everything.
Josie was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Josephine; two brothers, Anthony and Emanuel (“Manny”), and two sisters, Concetta (“Tina”) and Mary.
She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Salvatore (Sal) Borregine; her children: Michael (Kim), Tom, Linda (Gary), Laurie (David) and Lisa; and her seven beloved grandchildren: Stephen, Ana, Maria, Nicholas, Justin, Malia, and Ella. She is also survived by many much-loved nieces and nephews.
Josie was an absolutely beautiful, gentle-natured person, truly loved by all who knew her. Services will be private.
