Home Going Services for Mr. Luther Edwards

Luther Edwards departed this life on November 2, 2023. He was born on November 25, 1941 at Syracuse Memorial Hospital to Jeff and Helen Derby Edwards. He is pre-deceased by his parents, two brothers, his son, Luther Edwards Jr. in 2000, and son, Dorian Smith in 2023.  

Luther attended public schools in Syracuse and held quite a few jobs around the city, including being a part of the construction crews that built interstates 81 and 690. 

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Vertice Ann Robinson Edwards, his son, Jeff Edwards(Susan) of Baldwinsville, NY, his daughters,  Nicole Nimmons Carl and Bernice Edwards of Syracuse, NY, son, Derek Smith of Indiana, sister, June Rucker of Santa Rosa, Ca., sisters, Florence Brewer and Helena Edwards of Raleigh, NC, and  brother, Nelson Edwards(Toni)of Syracuse, NY. He also had an abundance of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Calling hours are Monday November 13th from 4-5:30pm at Sears Middleton Mathewson Funeral Home, 209 N Main St, North Syracuse, NY 13212 with a service at 5:30pm  Officiating the home going services will be Rev. Draper
