Margaret Sarah (Robinson) Qulia
On November 26th, 2019 we lost our dear mother, Marge Qulia, age 101. In thought and deed, Marge was a Christian every day of her life, and pursued her relationship with God which lifted her throughout life and into Heaven. She was born in Cinderella, WV on September 24, 1918 to Robert Roland Robinson and Mylinda “Linnie” Belle Hurt.
She was predeceased by all of her siblings: Roland Robert Robinson (Jane Kent), Herbert Robinson, Frank (Esther Poust) Robinson, Sally Anne, and Virginia (Ed Osborne, Bronson Kenney).
She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Francis “Frank” Qulia whom she married in Richmond, VA on September 4, 1943. Together, they had five children who survive her: Barbara Ellen (Richard) Koski, Richard Francis (Kathryn “Kitty” Yute) Qulia, Virginia Irene (John) Palumbo, Robert Gerard (Helen Henry) Qulia, and Patricia Anne (Timothy Rogers). She is survived by loving grandchildren (Camille Koski Mason and Gabriel Koski; Aimee Qulia Stapleton and Nikki Qulia Lancaster; Jeffrey John Palumbo, Julia Mary Palumbo Joyce and James Francis Palumbo; Russell and Tyler Qulia; Evan Francis Rogers, Leslie Anne Rogers and Leighton Alexander Rogers) and their spouses. She also has many nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.
She lived most of her life in Syracuse, NY. Together with her husband Frank, they opened a family business in 1947, the Village Drycleaners which they operated almost 40 years. During retirement, she relocated to Farragut, TN to be near her son Rick and his wife Kitty who were devoted to her well-being. She lived the rest of her life at NHC Assisted Living Center and met some wonderful friends. The family would also like to thank Lynn Fitzgerald (Eucharistic Minister) from St. John Neumann Catholic Church, Farragut; and the wonderful, caring staff and aides at NHC who treated Marge like she was their own Mom. She sure did enjoy Patsy’s exercise classes! We would also like to thank her very special personal caregivers who took such good care of Marge in her last few years who also became her friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: St. John Neumann Church, 633 St. John Court, Knoxville, TN 37934, “Ministry to the Sick” in memo line.
