Patricia M. Clewis, 79, of Fayetteville, departed from this life on Tuesday, November 23, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late James E. Clewis, Sr.; loving mother of Sherry Donath-Kellogg, Darlene Hutchins, Jaqueline Donath, Patti Donath, John Donath, and Paul Donath all of Syracuse, New York, and James (Jay) Clewis, Jr. of Los Angeles, California; 18 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and siblings Barbara Frenyea, Richard Cook, Raymond Cook, Ronald Cook, and loyal dog, Jessie. Patricia is predeceased by her daughter WendyJo Donath, brothers Bermard Stever, Berton Cook, and sisters Arvella Cook, Geraldine Cardamone, and Genevieve Luck.
Born on May 9, 1942 in Little Falls, New York, a daughter of the late Frank and Catherine (Gray) Cook. Patricia moved to Syracuse, New York in 1958 and later met her husband, James, at McCarthy’s SeaFood House where she worked at the time. They married in 1982. Patricia worked in the restaurant industry as a waitress, short-order cook, and manager at a number of establishments, including the Miss Syracuse Diner, McCarthy’s SeaFood House, Ja-Nic’s, Carmella’s Cafe, and others before retiring from Wilborn’s Restaurant in Central Square, New York in 2004.
Patricia will be remembered for her love of family, gambling, and Syracuse basketball.
A celebration of life will be held in December at the convenience of the family.
