Raphael A. Matteo, Jr, 62, of Syracuse, NY, died September 11, 2021 after a battle with cancer. Ray was born January 18, 1959 in Mount Vernon, NY. He graduated from Tuckahoe High School in Tuckahoe, NY in 1977.

Ray is survived by his six siblings – Cathy Mauritz, Tom Matteo, Patty Matteo, Larry Matteo, Mary Alice Leclair, and John Matteo. Known for routine, repeated jokes – a trait inherited from his father, Raphael Matteo, Sr. – Ray took good care of our mother, Alice Knuth Matteo, in the last decade of her life in North Syracuse, NY. For that we are forever grateful.

Ray will be buried 10 am on Monday, September 27, 2021 at the North Syracuse Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Syracuse Rescue Mission, 155 Gifford St, Syracuse, NY 13202 Phone: (315) 472-6251
