Raymond Cerio Obituary

 On September 19th, 2020, Raymond P. Cerio performed his very last disappearing Act of his life. Ray was a performing Magician and a member of Ring 101 and 74 of The International Brotherhood of Magicians. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Raymond was born to Raymond T. and Marion (Jones) Cerio on January 20th,1931. Ray was an only child.
Ray graduated from Onondaga Valley Academy in 1949. After graduation he decided to join the Navy to see the world. Unfortunately Ray spent his entire tour of duty at the Naval Examining Center in Great Lakes, Illinois. He earned the rank of Chief Petty Officer.
After the navy he attended Syracuse University earning both a Bachelors and a Masters degree. Ray went on to become a teacher, a C.P.A and associate Professor at O.C.C and a major Orange fan.
He had a great love of the Performing Arts appearing in many local theatrical productions at the Syracuse Children's Theatre and the Rusty Rail.
He was always volunteering for something whether it was at church, Election polls, schooling events for the kids.and too many lists. He was alway willing to help others and the community.
Ray was also an avid traveler. He was a Foster Parent for 10 years. Helping with 45 little ones during those years.
Surviving are his wife of 50 Years, Donna Cerio (Montclair) 6 children, Brett (Michelle) of Tennessee , Jordan, Brittany (John Shoop), Taylor (Vedad Busuladzic) and twins Tierney and Trinity- 9 grandkids and 5 great grandkids. And his beloved dog Oscar and cat Sunny.
Calling hours and services are Thursday September 24th, 2020 4-7pm. at Sears Middleton Jones Funeral Home, 209 North Main Street. North Syracuse, NY
