Robert W. Garrad

Robert W. Garrad, born on December 15th, 1948, in Auburn, New York to the late Edward W. Garrad and Bernice VanNorstrand.

He was a beloved husband, stepfather, grandfather, brother, and friend. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family.

Robert proudly served his country for two years in Vietnam, earning many medals including two Purple Hearts.

He was a loving husband to his wife, Robin Ross-Garrad. Robert was a dedicated father to his stepdaughters, Rene Deemer and Rachel Reals (Brian Snyder), and a fun-loving grandfather to Austin Reals, Aiden Snyder (Lillian Boberg), and Joseph Deemer III. He is survived by his brother Edward Garrad (Barb Garrad) and sister Debra Pickard (Edward Pickard), as well as his nephew Tom Garrad and niece Gretchen Lunkenheimer-Minotti (Mike Minotti) and several cousins. He is also remembered by his best friend of many years, Richard Naples.

Robert loved watching westerns, listening to music, riding his tractor, enjoying his morning coffee, and never forgetting his big jug of water. He was also adored his dogs and cats. Known for his humor and loving nature, he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services are Saturday September 6th at 1pm at Sears Middleton Mathewson Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., North Syracuse, NY
