Rosemarie Mancuso Emmi Obituary

Rosemarie Mancuso Emmi, 86, of Liverpool, passed away on January 6th, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 30, 1939, in Syracuse, New York, to Antonia Falcone and Nuncio A. Mancuso. A lifelong Syracuse resident, Rosemarie’s life was deeply rooted in faith, family, and service to others.

She was educated at Our Lady of Pompei School, where she attended through the 8th grade and was part of the first graduating class in the newly built church. Rosemarie went on to graduate from the Convent School in 1956 and later from Cazenovia College in 1958. Following her education, she worked as a dental assistant until her marriage to Carmen Emmi, Sr. in 1962.

Rosemarie was an active and dedicated member of her community and church. She served as President of the Children of Mary and was involved in St. Anthony’s Society, the Lincoln Republican Club, and Parent Teacher Associations at all of her children’s schools. She was also a room mother for each of her children throughout their elementary school years, always present, involved, and giving of herself.

Her life was centered on God, her church, her children, grandchildren, extended family, and dear friends. Rosemarie’s greatest joy came from family time, celebrations, holidays, cooking for everyone, and simply being together. She felt truly blessed to watch her grandchildren grow, work hard, and achieve their goals, and becoming a great-grandmother was a profound honor to her. GiGi’s heart overflowed with love for her great-granddaughter, Charlotte “Charli.”

Rosemarie is predeceased by her Husband Carmen Emmi, Sr., Parents Nuncio and Antonia Mancuso, and brother Ross Mancuso.

She is survived by her children, Anthony (Sandy Duncan) Emmi and Joseph (Tina DeFeo) Emmi both of Baldwinsville, Carmen Jr (Francine Scuderi) Emmi of Clay, Marc Emmi (Lori Bradford Mancuso) of Liverpool, Nanci (Kevin) Mathewson of Cicero and Ross (Kiersten Warren) Emmi of Liverpool; grandchildren; Carolee, Ben (Emily), Carmen, Joey, Carmen III, Frankie (Jane), Lexi, Ross (Hannah), CJ, Bella, Kevin Jr., Andrew, Elizabeth, Audrey, Justin, Evelyn and Claire, great-granddaughter Charlotte, a great grand baby to be, and many cousins and friends whom she adored. She is also survived by her "adopted sons" Rev. Daniel Caruso and Rev. Joseph Scardella.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, January 10th at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Pompei Church. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 pm in Our Lady of Pompei Church, 301 Ash St., Syracuse, NY.
