Shirley I. Solinsky

Shirley Irene Solinsky, 91, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 24, 2019.  Born on August 23, 1927, she was the daughter of Alfred and Irene Trafford.  She grew up in Lyncourt and graduated from North High School. In 1952 she married Richard L. Solinsky and they built a home at 7353 East Taft Road where they raised their 4 children.  Summers were spent at their cottage on Charleston Lake, Ontario, Canada.

Shirley enjoyed square dancing, sewing, traveling, and spending time with her family.

She was predeceased by her husband, Richard L. Solinsky and her son, Richard J. Solinsky. Shirley is survived by three children, Brian R. Solinsky of Florida, Michael J. Solinsky (Becki) of East Syracuse,  Amy I. Clifford (Ronald) of Cicero, nine grandchildren, Peter Solinsky (Amy), Brian Solinsky Jr. (Chelsea), Stephen Solinsky (Ellicia), Kristine LaCelle (Harry), Matthew Solinsky, Sarah Solinsky, Ryan Solinsky, Daniel Clifford, Erin Clifford,  twelve great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, her sister, Diane Hammerle, and several nieces and a nephew. Calling hours will be from 3-6 pm on Sunday, July 28th at Sears Middleton Mathewson Funeral Home,  209  N. Main St. North Syracuse. A Mass of Christian Burial  will be celebrated at 10: 00 AM, Monday, July 29th at Sacred Heart Church, Rt 11, Cicero, NY. The Rite of Committal will follow at Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse, NY. A special thanks to the caregivers at The Cottages at Garden Grove for their compassionate care.
