Shirley A. (Chubb) Stone

Shirley Stone (nee Chubb) died at Loretto nursing home on the morning of January 8, 2020 after a lengthy battle with breast cancer. She was 68.

Ms. Stone was born on February 18, 1951 in Syracuse, NY to her parents, Edgar and Helen Chubb. She lived in Manlius, NY until approximately 1980, when she moved to Chittenango, NY. Shirley worked as a certified nurse’s aid at the former Stonehedge Nursing home, where she was a compassionate and skillful caregiver for over thirty years.

Shirley is survived by her sons, Harold Franklin Baritell III, Timothy A. Baritell, Bradley M. Stone; her daughter Andrea L. Stone-Ortiz; her brother, Edward Chubb; and her seven grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Helen.

Cremation has taken place and her family has chosen to forgo a funeral. Memorial services will take place in the spring of this year, at a place and time that has yet to be determined.

The family is grateful for the condolences, but asks that donations be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, in lieu of flowers.
