Stanley “Stosh” Barr

Stanley “Stosh” Barr, 51, of Syracuse, passed away July 27, 2022. Stanley loved spending time with his children, father and grandsons which he lovingly referred to as his little Rugrats. 

He was called the baby whisperer because of his ability to calm fussy babies within seconds of holding them. He loved muscle cars and collecting die cast cars. He was a New York Yankees and Pittsburgh Stealers fan. He was a talented painter and took pride in his skill. He enjoyed drawing. He had a huge heart and would help anyone who asked. 

Stanley was predeceased by his mother, Deborah (Russo) Tharpe, step father, Delbert Tharpe and step mother, Robin Barr

He is survived by his father, Donald of Liverpool, his son, Justin (Brennan) of Liverpool; daughters Jaydah (Kirby III) of Syracuse, Jazmyne of Syracuse, special bonus daughter, Julia of North Syracuse, two amazing grandchildren, JayDen and Kirby IV, sister, Tina of Kentucky, brothers, Donald, Jr. of Kentucky, Trevor of Syracuse and Josh of Syracuse,  step-sister Denise of Fayetteville, his aunt Maureen of Baldwinsville, goddaughter, Savannah of Syracuse, best friend/brother, Jason Smithers (Jen) of Syracuse. Two special women in his life, the mother of his children, Melissa McCauley (Joe) of Hastings, his wife, childrens step mother Chastity Kinahan of Liverpool. Several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are Saturday, August 6th from 11am-1pm at Sears Middleton Mathewson Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., North Syracuse.

Stanley’s children request in memory of their father, to wear Yellow his favorite color.
