Susan Brown Obituary

Susan Jean Brown, born on September 15, 1949, in Fulton, NY, to Jean and Fredrick Brown, passed away, on December 31, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and service. She is survived by her five siblings: Larry, Richard, Robin (Hurlbert), Kim (Dombrowski), and Joseph, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

At the age of 15, Susan was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on July 17, 1964, marking the beginning of a life dedicated to service. For 60 years, she devoted herself to helping others, spending 53 of those years as a full-time minister. Susan was cherished in her congregation for making the ministry enjoyable and was meticulous about keeping an organized field ministry bag. She always ready to drive and known for her well-stocked snack box in the van. She even carried treats for the dogs she encountered because Susan loved animals both real and stuffed.

In addition to her ministry, Susan was a skilled practitioner of Kinesiology and massage therapy for over 50 years. Her expertise helped many with various ailments, and her keen insights enabled some clients to detect and avoid life-threatening conditions. Many feel they owe their lives to Susan's care and dedication.

Of course, as hard as Susan worked in serving others, she wasn’t afraid to ‘stop and smell the roses,’ she just loved flowers, and some playful teasing of family and friends. One of her personal goals was to travel to every state in the U.S. and she has the collection of key chains to prove it.

Susan truly was a pillar of support for her family and friends. As Proverbs 27:9 states, “Sweet friendship springs from sincere counsel,” and Susan embodied this wisdom. Known for her honest advice and outspoken nature, her frank advice endeared her to many.

Susan will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her life was a testament to the power of faith, service to others and love. Ecclesiastes 5:12 says “Sweet is the sleep of the one serving”. We are convinced that Susan’s sleep in the grave will truly be sweet because of her labors of love.
