Theron C. Feidt, 82, of Pennellville, NY, passed away on January 17, 2026, at Loretto Health Care.
Born on January 2, 1944, in Syracuse, Theron was an intelligent, hardworking man whose life was shaped by strength, independence, and a deep appreciation for the natural world. He began working at Syroco in the early 1960s, and in the 1970s he started his own well‑drilling business. For several years he balanced both jobs, putting in long days and longer weeks before eventually dedicating himself fully to well drilling, a trade in which he earned deep respect for his determination, skill, and quiet pride in his craft.
Theron carried that same dedication into building his own family home. He began the project in the late 1970s, moved in by 1981, and continued improving it over the years, adding floors, decks, and thoughtful touches that reflected both his craftsmanship and his love for creating a place his family could call home.
He found peace outdoors and cherished simple, grounding moments, casting a line into still water, walking through the woods, or sleeping beneath an open sky. His compassion extended especially to animals, and he took great pride in rescuing those in need, offering them safety, comfort, and kindness throughout his life.
Though devoted to his family, Theron also valued solitude and reflection. Time spent alone, often unwinding with a game of solitaire was an important part of his balance and the way he recharged his spirit.
He is survived by his children Robin (Mark) Bingham, Ragan Feidt, Camie Strodel Sellin-Dickert, and Theron (Melissa) Feidt; seven grandchildren; five great‑grandchildren and his sister Phyllis Nostrant; all of whom will remember him for his intelligence, work ethic, love for animals, and the steady, understated way he showed he cared.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sally (Collins) Feidt, his parents Beatrice and Clifford Feidt, and his sister Naomi Wood.
Services will be held at Sears‑Middleton‑Mathewson Funeral Home, 209 North Main Street, North Syracuse, NY 13212, on Thursday, January 29th, from 3–6 p.m., with a private burial to follow in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, and in keeping with Theron’s lifelong love for animals, the family asks that memorial donations be made in his name to Friends Forever Animal Rescue in Pennellville, NY (friendsforeverny.com). Donations may also be mailed to:
