Thomas Tyrrell

Tom passed away on September 15, 2024 at Saint Joseph’s Hospital, he was 68.

Tom was born on August 11, 1956 in Ticonderoga, NY.  He is predeceased by his Mother Helene (Green) Tyrrell and his Father Thomas Tyrrell. 

Tom was most proud of his two sons Joel Tyrrell and Robert Tyrrell.  They were both by his side for the last few days of his life.

Tom is a veteran who served in the Navy for 4 years.  

He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors.  He loved foraging for mushrooms, always trying to beat the other foragers to the best mushrooms! 

He loved photography, writing poetry, camping in the Adirondacks, visiting his favorite spots in Jamaica and spending summer days on his Pontoon boat, fishing and playing Backgammon with his wife.             

Tom was a very compassionate man, every year he would pick out a family in need at Thanksgiving and Christmas and donate everything they would need to make it a good holiday.  He did this anonymously.

Tom is survived by his sons Joel and Robert Tyrrell and his wife Kirsten “Kiki” Munro as well as several brothers and sisters, nephews, nieces, and close friends.

As his last selfless act, he has donated his body to the Upstate Medical University – Anatomical Gift Program.  He has requested no funeral.
