Vera C. (Piselli) Kasouf

Vera Kasouf passed away on December 9, 2025 at the age of 94 after a period of declining health. She was born on August 5,1931 to Dominic and Loretta Piselli in Jamesville NY and lived in the Greater Syracuse area her entire life.

She married the love of her life George Kasouf on June 30, 1951, and together they raised three children: Chick (Michelle), Debby (Al) and Michael (Mary). To Vera, family and friends were very important. She loved to entertain and she was famous for her cooking, especially her Sunday sauce and the cookies she baked with pride at the holidays.  Vera enjoyed her frequent card games with friends, casino trips, and watching the Red Sox.

Vera was predeceased by her parents, her husband George, son Michael and daughters in law Michelle and Mary as well as her siblings Daniel Piselli, Anne Pluff, Geraldine Cua, Lucy DeSiato, and Celia Walker.  In addition to her children Vera leaves behind a brother Joey Piselli, grandchildren Michael, Danny, Jon, Nicole, Jenn and Joseph and great grand-children Joey, Vinny, Liam, Scarlette, Mason, Madelyn, and Hudson to cherish her memory. 

The family would like to thank the Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Chittenango for the loving care they gave Vera over the past six months.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 17th from 8:00 – 9:00 AM at the Sears-Middleton-Matthewson Funeral Home in North Syracuse, followed by a funeral mass at Sacred Heart Church in Cicero.  Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jerry Riordan Scholarship Fund at Christian Brothers Academy, or a charity of your choice.
