Warner D. Schapley, Sr.

Warner D. Schapley, Sr., 90, of Dewitt, passed away March 10, 2022. He was born in Syracuse and retired after 43 years from Crouse Hinds in the iron foundry. Warner enjoyed playing bingo, the daily lottery and fishing. He was an avid SU basketball and football fan. He enjoyed spending Spring and Summer's at his camp on Millsite Lake. He loved watching his hummingbirds but mostly enjoyed spending time with his family.

He was predeceased by his loving wife of 42 years, Patricia. He is survived by his children, Warner (Karen) Schapley, Jr. of S. Carolina, Wayne (Mary) Schapley of Liverpool, Wendy (Ed) Boice of Vernon, Tammy (Mark) Shoales of West Monroe. Jimmer (Marisol) Killoran of S. Carolina, Paula Edge of Cortland and Kevin Schapley of Florida; 17 grandchildren, Rebekah (Sean) Farrell, Sarah (David) Whiteside, Benjamin Schapley, Lee Schapley, Nathan (Alyssa) Horner, Courtney Shoales, Lindsey Shoales, Bryana LaFlair, Kaylie (Kristopher) Walters, Valery LaFlair, Melany LaFlair (Spencer Hill), Alayna Race, Denis Killoran, Alexis Killoran, Douglas Schapley, Allison Schapley and Brian Schapley; 8 great grandchildren, Reagan Farrell, Madagan Farrell, Evelyn Rose Horner, John J. Fitzgerald, Logan Walters, Nicholas Walters, Zaiver Falso and Zayden Ossit; his brother, Ray Schapley of Florida; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services are Saturday March 19th at 10am in Sears Middleton Mathewson Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday from 4-7pm at the funeral home, 209 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. In lieu of flowers,
