Zoe Anne Zacharek unexpectedly passed away at her residence in Buffalo, New York. Zoe was born in Syracuse to Walter G. and Ione M. (Clary) Zacharek. Zoe grew up in North Syracuse and attended Cicero High School. Zoe continued her education at SUNY Buffalo and received her Master’s Degree in Anthropology.

Zoe is also survived by her sister Cynthia “Cindy” Zacharek Comstock and husband Gary and niece Sabrina. Zoe was also a Great Aunt to a niece and nephew.
Zoe was an avid reader. Her goal was to read all the books in the library! Zoe enjoyed an extended family of friends in Buffalo. She liked to hang out in the park, birdwatch as well as to paint and cook. Zoe loved spending time with her family and also with her many wonderful friends in Buffalo.
Donations for Buffalo libraries in Zoe’s name can be made online at https://www.buffalolib.org/donate or for Onondaga County libraries at https://oflibrary.org/support/donate-today.
In closing, Zoe’s written words and wishes were “Grieve, have a party, have some laughs at my expense if you can”.
There are no calling hours or service, instead a celebratory party is tentatively planned for Zoe in the Fall 2022, Covid permitting, in Syracuse.
