Doris had a dry sense of humor. One time when our supper club met at our home, one of the other ladies was saying how pretty everything was. Doris quipped, "you better take a good look because it will be different the next time you come". It struck me funny then and still does.Doris was her own person and preferred not being in the limelight. She was very intelligent and when she said something, you listened. Doris was a wonderful woman. I saw her every day for many summers when she was a member of the pool where I was a lifeguard. She was always gracious, friendly, and would sometimes bring her grandchildren to swim. Once in a while Homer would come and dive in and splash all the kids and we would all laugh. Great people.
